Adult Inpatient Program
Inpatient care from Southeast Behavioral Hospital provides therapies and treatment for whatever mental health and co-occurring substance use disorder you or your loved one may have with compassion and understanding.
Our Program
- Inpatient treatment for acute behavioral health disorders
- Individualized treatment plans and goals
- Discharge plans for continued progress after treatment
Our mission at Southeast Behavioral Hospital is to help them stabilize behavior and emotions, while developing new, effective coping methods. To promote ongoing progress after a patient leaves our care, we initiate community referrals for continued care.
Adult Inpatient Program Length of Stay
The average length of stay in our adult inpatient hospital program at Southeast Behavioral Hospital is five to seven days. Additionally, our Intensive Outpatient Groups are available five days a week with the average program lasting 4-6 weeks.
However, stays may be shorter or longer than average based on individual needs. The physician, therapist, care team and the patient and their support circle collectively determine the patient’s time of discharge.

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Southeast Behavioral Hospital offers an adult psychiatric intensive outpatient program for individuals with a variety of mental health needs.
Our Program
The program uses a therapeutic model designed to help patients make positive changes to cope better with their mental health issues and live a more productive life.
Our Adult IOP can serve as a step-down program for patients who have completed inpatient treatment but may need additional support as they transition back into their home environment. It can also serve as stand-alone treatment for those who do not need around-the-clock care.
The program runs Monday through Friday from 9 am to 12 pm and patients can choose to attend between three and five days per week. Individuals will meet with a board-certified psychiatrist upon admission.
The intensive outpatient program for adults provides treatments for mental health disorders including bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety and more.
Adult IOP Services Length of Stay
The program typically lasts between 12 and 16 sessions, but can vary depending on the person’s needs. Upon completion from the IOP program, alumni are invited to attend a monthly peer group for ongoing education and support.
